Stable Isotopes Detection (¹³C/¹⁵N/¹⁸O/²H, Deuterium/³⁴S)
Stable Isotope Detection Services | Accurate & Reliable Isotope Analysis
Overview of Stable Isotope Detection
Our stable isotope detection service utilizes advanced IsoPrime100 mass spectrometry technology to accurately determine carbon (13C) and nitrogen (15N) stable isotope ratios. This method ensures precise analysis for both solid and gas samples.
Detection Methodology
- Standard Calibration: We use Elemental Microanalysis LTD's four standard urea materials for calibration. By measuring the carbon and nitrogen isotope values of these materials and comparing them with the standard, we establish a linear regression model.
- Sample Analysis: Based on the calibration, we measure the total carbon (C) and δ13CAIR value, as well as the total nitrogen (N) and δ15NAIR value in the samples.
- Sample Requirements:
- Solid samples: Air-dried, ground, sieved (>60 mesh).
- Gas samples: Stored in bottles or air bags for easy extraction.
Advanced Testing Instruments
- IsoPrime100 Mass Spectrometer: Combines the precision of an elemental analyzer with the capabilities of an isotope mass spectrometer.
- Fast and accurate detection.
- Requires minimal sample quantity.
- Exceptional performance for varying concentration ranges.
- Peripheral Devices:
- Element analyzer (EA).
- Trace gas pre-concentration device (Trace Gas).
