Forage Grass Genetic Transformation Service
From Gene to Seedling: Comprehensive Forage Grass Transformation Solutions
Overview
Our forage grass transformation service employs Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated gene delivery to introduce target genes into the explant (callus tissue) of various grass species. During co-cultivation, Agrobacterium attaches to the surface of plant cells and transfers T-DNA into the genome. The transferred gene is stably and randomly integrated into the host genome. Through the totipotency of plant cells, transformed calli are regenerated into whole transgenic plants using optimized tissue culture techniques.
Workflow
Explant Preparation → Callus Induction → Agrobacterium Infection → Co-Cultivation → Selection → Regeneration → Rooting → T0 Transgenic Seedling Acquisition

Key Advantages
High Screening Efficiency: Our proprietary media formula enables >60% of calli to test positive.
Comprehensive Monitoring: Every stage, from seed sterilization to regeneration, is strictly controlled.
Multi-Level Validation: Positive seedlings are confirmed not only by PCR, but also by Sanger sequencing and qPCR, offering enhanced functional gene verification.
Versatile Selection Markers: Compatible with hygromycin (HYG), phosphinothricin (Bar), and other resistance genes.
Industry Pioneer: Among the first in China to provide stable forage grass transformation services at scale.

Sample Submission Requirements
Sample Type | Requirements | Shipping Conditions |
---|---|---|
Gene Sequence (for synthesis) | Sequence only | — |
Purified Plasmid DNA | ≥1 μg/μL, ≥10 μL, resistance info, no contamination | Ice pack |
Bacterial Culture (Plasmid) | >500 μL, resistance info, no contamination | Dry ice (1–5 days depending on volume) |
Plate Culture (E. coli or Agrobacterium) | No contamination | Room temperature |
Seeds (non-model species) | ≥200 seeds | Room temperature |
Important Notes
For bacterial cultures: use glycerol stocks preserved within one year; bacterial plates should be freshly activated (within 1 week).
Client-supplied Agrobacterium strains are acceptable.
By default, we deliver T0 generation seedlings.
We recommend that clients ship plasmids instead of live cultures due to the risk of contamination during transit.
Note: All products and services are strictly intended for research use only. They are not to be used for clinical diagnostics or therapeutic applications.
